Innovative Dosimetry Laboratory (IDOL) focuses on pioneering research in Monte Carlo radiation transport technique and computational human phantoms. Our efforts are directed towards developing innovative dosimetry techniques applicable to various applications/fields including radiation safety, industry, space, and medicine. Notably, Prof. Yeon Soo Yeom, the head of the laboratory, not only serves as a member of Committee 2 of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) but also actively participates in multiple ICRP Task Groups (96, 103, 113, 128) to conduct international collaborative research for the publication of new ICRP reports.
Development of next-generation computational human phantoms
Establishment of an animal computational phantom library
Calculation of dose coefficients for internal and external exposure and database construction
Acquisition and utilization of various general-purpose Monte Carlo radiation transport codes
Development of organ dose and effective dose assessment techniques tailored for diagnostic imaging patients such as CT and PET/CT
Development of AI-based automatic segmentation technology
Development of GPU-based rapid Monte Carlo radiation transport analysis technology
Development of individual dosimetry techniques to support radiation epidemiology research
Development of exposure dose assessment techniques for aircrew and astronauts
